Noel Barnes played for Washington State Cougars Position(s) played : Center, Offensive Tackle, Defensive EndJoined the Pierce County Bengals in 1978 after earning prep All-American honors at Franklin High School in Seattle and lettering at Washington State University. Played both defensive end and center, earning 2nd team All-NIFL honors at center. Bengals went 8 - 1 before losing to the Burien Flyers 7-3 in the NIFL Championship Game then to the San Jose Tigers 43-7, finishing the season 8-3. Joined the Seattle Cavaliers in 1979 who lost to the Spokane Goldenhawks in the NIFL playoffs 42-7 and finished the season 7-3. Rejoined the Pierce County Bengals in 1980 earning 1st team All-NIFL honors at offensive tackle. Defeated the Vancouver-Portland Thunderbirds in the NIFL Championship Game 30-9, but then lost to the Yuba City (California) Cougars in the Minor League Semi-Final playoff game 28-23 and finished the season 9-1. Had tryouts with the Seattle Seahawks in 1980 and 1981, then coached in the Kent Junior Football League in 1981, the Mercer Island Junior Football League in 1991, and the Bellevue Junior Football League in 1992 and 1995. Both teams in Bellevue made championship game appearances. Currently lives in Renton as a retired mail carrier and is a full time musician - plays saxophone in an award winning Seattle Blues Band called Michele D'Amour and the Love Dealers.
